ABOUT MINDFULNESS PROGRAM FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS

The Mindfulness Program for Teachers and Students is an 8-week program based on the internationally acclaimed program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

 

It is a comprehensive program focused on the development of an ongoing mindfulness practice and way of life. It leads to measurable changes in brain regions associated with: memory, learning, self-awareness, emotion regulation, compassion, anxiety, stress, etc. This changes can occur thanks to brain neuroplasticity.

PREREQUISITES:

No previous experience with mindfulness or meditation is required.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The program is an evidence-based method for learning mindfulness skills, offered in the following formats: virtual classroom or distance e-learning with videos. A in-person format can also be developed upon request. Program activities include guided meditation, mindful movement, concepts learning, self-analysis exercises and home practices.

PROGRAM METHODOLOGY

  • The program consists of 8 weekly sessions of 1.5 hour each

  • Participants are given guided mindfulness practices and daily home practice assignments designed to assist in the development of a disciplined and nurturing mindfulness practice

  • Participants learn the essential principles of mindfulness and techniques to access the wide-ranging benefits well beyond the course

  • The program is offered in the following formats: virtual classroom or distance e-learning. A in-person format can also be developed upon request.
